Advanced
Browsers are the most versatile of the three browsers in Marauder 3.
They show images regardless of where the files are stored and are normally
used to display the results of searches or content of multiple directories.
(They are also used inside some of the BBS tools being added to the future
version of M3; M3 upgrades are currently no charge)
Using
an Advanced Browser
To use an
Advanced Browser, either type in a search or directory path into its entry
field and press the EXE button or perform a search using any of M3's search
tools and select the View option.
Common
Advanced Browser tasks
Tasks commonly
performed using Advanced Browsers are:
Searching
for an image to view full sized (from search result):
- Locate
the image you want to open.
- Double
Searching
for a number of images to view full sized (from search result):
- Locate
the images you want to open.
- Select
them and choose the Selected>Open All... menu item.
Examining
images and assigning attributes to them, one image at a time:
- Locate
the image you want to assign attributes to.
- Select
it and choose the Selected>Attributes... menu item. -or- Move
the mouse pointer over it and press the middle mouse button.
Examining
images and assigning attributes to them, many image at once:

the image you want to assign attributes to.
- Select
them and choose the Selected>Attributes... menu item.
Examining
images to delete unwanted ones:
- Locate
the image(s) you want to delete
- Select
image(s).

Selecting
images to view in a Slideshow window or to store in a virtual directory:
- Locate
the images you want to view
- Select
images.
- Choose
the Selected>Pass To>Virtual Browser... menu item to open a new
Virtual Browser window to display
the images or select the Selected>Pass To>Slideshow... to open
a new Slideshow window for viewing the
images.
- This
is an optional step: The use of Pass To menu items does
not deselect the icons. This is so you can use Selected>Remove
or use the selection for other purposes at this point.
Note: Like
the other browsers in M3, the Advanced Browser allows you to drag-and-drop
images into or out from it. The way the browsers behave when you copy,
move and/or link (action keys held down while drag-and-dropping) images
between them depends on the type of the browser. Most likely, your
intuition on how the action should be performs is correct. For a complete
listing of actions you can perform using this browser and the different
drag-and-drop rules, see the Browser menu items
and actions chapter. |
