Assigning/Modifing Attributes

Assigning image attributes is the work you perform when you specify to M3 the details of an image.  You can specify attributes for individual image or for modify attributes if a number of images at the same time.

Setting attributes for one  image

To modify an individual image's attributes use its pop-up menu and select the Attributes... button.  (Inside of a Browser, select the image and then click on the Selected>Attributes... menu item.)  This will open the Database Object window as shown below.

The Database Object window contains the following information:

  • Iconized view of the image.
  • Name, location, and image file information.
  • A unique id for th image.
  • A description field.  You can enter a description up to 128 characters long into this fields.
  • Attributes.  Set or Clear them as desired.  There are used for searching your image collection.
In this example, we've marked the image as Female, Glamour, and are about to enter a description for it.

Setting attributes for images is a task that you are very likely to be performing often.  Because of this, the third mouse button (if any) is programmed by M3 to automatically display the Database Object when pressed.  Simply move the pointer over any image and press the middle mouse button.  The third mouse button is extremely useful in M3.

Setting attributes for one  image

To modify the attributes of two or more images inside of a Browser, select them all using the mouse pointer and then click on the Selected>Attributes... menu item.  A Database Object window will be where you can modify the attributes for the images.

The Database Object window contains the following information:

  • A static icon image.
  • The word MUL indicating multiple attribute adjustments.
  • A description field.  You can enter a description up to 128 characters long into this fields.
  • Attributes displayed using 3-state buttons.
In this example, we've up all images in a directory,  This directory contained picutre of a female person who used to be famous but no longer is.  We're marking all of the images as Female and non-Famous.  The rest of the attributes left undisturbed.
