Directory
Browsers are the most simple browser type available in Marauder 3.
(They also appear in MD+F
SX Paint without the database functionality or caches)
Using
a Directory Browser
To use a
Directory Browser, insert a filename into the entry field located at the
top of its window and press the Scan button. The Directory
Browser will scan the contents of the directory and being loading and
displaying the visible icons. A directory browser is highly optimized
for handling large number of images and will not be slowed down for large
images as would the operating system's file browser.
Common
Directory Browser tasks
Tasks commonly
performed using Directory Browsers are:

for an image to view full sized:
- Locate
the image you want to open.
- Double

images and assigning attributes to them, one image at a time:

Updating
database information for all images in a directory. Generally used
if you move many files around using another tool:
- Open
a Directory Browser displaying the new directory.
- Choose
the Realize Path menu item. M3 will update the location information
for all files in its database indices. This is an extremely fast
operation. The actual database information for the images will
be updated gradually afterwards by M3.
NOTE:
You should not use Browsers to examine new batch of images to decide which
ones you want to keep and which ones you want to delete.
For a complete
listing, see the Browser menu items and actions
chapter.
