Welcome to
the MD+F product download page. To install and run one or more products
on your machine, please follow the steps below: (To upgrade, just
download and install the newer software)
- Create
one or more directories for the products. If you download
multiple products, you can install them separate directories in a single
directory. (Suggested name for a single directory install is C:\SX
for OS/2 and Windows 95 and sx for BeOS)
- Decide
which programs you want to download, keep in mind that:
- You
can only have a demo or the actual copy of each program, not both
at the same time.
- If
you've purchased MD+F Blitter, you can also install MD+F ISAD/SAD/MIU
for free; no registration required once you register MD+F Blitter.
(MD+F ISAD/SAD/MIU will be the next version of MD+F ISAD/SAD)
- If
you've purchased MD+F Marauder 3, you can also install MD+F Blitter
and MD+F ISAD/SAD/MIU for free; no registrations required once you
register MD+F Marauder 3. (MD+F ISAD/SAD/MIU will be the next version
of MD+F ISAD/SAD)

MD+F libraries and support files:
- Download
VisualAge libraries (if you upgrade your VisualAge libraries, you
need to upgrade all software you have previously installed from above):
- Download
CPPOOR3U.DLL file.
- cppoor3u.zip
- There is a problem with the current generation of VisualAge for
OS/2 which requires you to install this file. Please only download
this file if:
-
You are running programs on OS/2 Warp, and
-
You do not have IBM software development tools installed.
- Download
optional support or sample files, these are mostly useful for SX
Paint, install the SXO files in the "objects"
directory.
- Unzip
all files (download into your directory) in the order you downloaded.
- Run
the executable(s), you'll need to register non-demo versions before
you can use them.
Program/install
comments:
- Demo
versions are similar to the commercially available product except they
will not allow you to save images, will only seen every other file when
listing directories, or place a limit on downloads they perform.
They will however let you "Collapse" your work, so you can save what
you do and continue working on it at a later time.
- TBD
programs are expected (i.e. not committed to by Modular Dreams Inc.)
to become available in the near future.
- VisualAge
OpenClass libraries are licensed software from IBM. Copyright
1996-1998 IBM Corporation; used under license.
- BeOS
versions do not require IBM's VisualAge libraries; the BeOS applications
include Modular Dreams' own version of VisualAge libraries, MD+F MACH,
built into them.
- A three
button mouse is extremely useful with MD+F Marauder 3.
- MD+F
Blitter and MD+F ISAD/SAD require 640x400 or better display with 256
colors or higher.
- MD+F
FX3D, MD+F Marauder 3, MD+F SX Paint, and MD+F WebAK require 800x600
or better display with 256 colors or higher. A 1024x768 or better
display with 16M color is recommended.
- All
programs require 16-32 Meg memory, more depending on use. For
heavy uses of MD+F Marauder 3 or MD+F SX Paint, 32 Meg is the minimum
recommended, 48 Meg is suggested.
- OS/2
Warp users: Do not attempt to terminate applications using System Commander
or similar applications. Do not use or attempt to exit programs
if available memory for swapper is 25M or less. Please test demo
versions of programs with operating system extensions you have installed
to make sure they can coexist.
- To register
programs, please purchase a Serial Number from an online reseller, or
purchase the product and use registration number inside of the manual
cover (front page), back of the first 3.5" diskette, or back of the
CD-ROM's jewel case. Please do not lose your software Serial Number
as we can not supply them to you if lost before program registration.
- Each
license you purchase gets you the software for all available platforms.
